Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic)

About the role

EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) for its onsite facility in Lima, OH. The technician provides maintenance and repair for a variety of company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, working on the newest fleet in the industry. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours and on-call scheduling with additional compensation.

Key responsibilities

• Create, assign and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts and diagnose issues using data from hundreds of makes and models
• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment
• Assist in training lower-level technicians and maintain work orders electronically
• Help with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts
• Follow safe job practices and use laptops and tablets; knowledge of OSHA requirements is preferred

Required profile

• High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred
• Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
• Must own tools applicable to the position
• Able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely and lift up to 50 pounds
• Offers are contingent on a background check and a 10-panel drug screen

Required skills

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal and written communication skills
