Renewable Development Engineer (PV, BESS, Wind)

About the role

Atwell, LLC, a consulting, engineering and construction firm serving real estate, land development and energy markets, is hiring a mid-level Renewable Development Engineer for its Renewable Development group. You will act as the primary liaison for development, bid support and preliminary (0-30%) PV, BESS and Wind design, working with internal Operations and Sales stakeholders and external clients. The position is open to local/in-office candidates in Lakewood, CO and full-time remote candidates, with a salary range of $80,000-$110,000 per year based on the Denver market.

Key responsibilities

• Design PV, BESS and Wind projects across the US, including preliminary electrical and civil design (0-30% of project)
• Create constraint files, layouts, preliminary cable and DC design, civil grading and drainage, and high-level bills of materials
• Run EE studies (load flow, ampacity, losses, short circuit) and production estimates with PVsyst
• Work with the proposal team and SMEs to set proposal pricing and support the Business Development and Project Services teams
• Build and maintain client and vendor relationships, attend conferences and training, and follow safety rules

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering (electric power option preferred)
• 1-4 years of relevant engineering or field experience
• FE or PE licensure is a plus but not required
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Self-motivated, organized, good communicator and able to lift 25 lbs; typical travel 5-10%
