Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic)

About the role

EquipmentShare is seeking a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician to maintain and repair its fleet of construction machinery and aerial lifts at the Lima, OH facility. The technician will use the company’s T3 platform to create work orders, track service intervals, and diagnose issues across a wide range of makes and models. This full‑time, onsite position offers the chance to work on the newest equipment in the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Create, assign, and monitor work orders using the T3 platform and pull data from equipment diagnostics.
• Perform maintenance and repair on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems of rental and customer equipment.
• Order parts, track service intervals, and document all work in electronic work orders.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick‑up and delivery, and train lower‑level technicians as needed.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety practices.

Required profile

• High school diploma; trade‑school certificate preferred.
• Experience in field service, maintenance and repair of construction equipment preferred.
• Must own appropriate tools and be able to lift up to 50 lb.
• Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend and move freely throughout the workday.
• Pass a 10‑panel drug screen and background check.

Required skills

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Understanding of hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams and diagnostic data.
• Proficiency with laptops, tablets and industry‑leading diagnostic software.
