Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Roadrunner is building a new enterprise pricing stack (PQA) and needs a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers. You will embed with RevOps and Sales teams, turn complex pricing challenges into shipped features, and ensure those solutions run reliably in production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on‑site with customers to discover, design, and deliver pricing and approval workflows.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery, from technical discovery through go‑live and ongoing operations.
• Convert customer‑specific integrations into reusable platform features.
• Deploy, tune, and iterate AI‑driven quoting and approval agents in real‑world deal environments.
• Provide rapid feedback to the core product team based on field observations.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering technical solutions end‑to‑end, preferably with direct customer interaction.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to build quickly without compromising quality.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, unfamiliar systems and finding efficient solutions.
• High autonomy, a builder’s mindset, and clear communication with both engineers and business leaders.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on‑site customer work.
• Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate to join an in‑person team.
