Engineering Manager – GPU & ML Accelerator

About the role

Anthropic is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its GPU and ML accelerator efforts within the performance and scaling teams. You will guide a fast‑moving group that builds efficient inference and training systems while ensuring safety and reliability of AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Provide front‑line leadership to improve model performance and scale inference and training pipelines.
• Contribute as an individual contributor on the team’s technical stack when needed.
• Manage day‑to‑day execution, prioritize work, and steer projects in a dynamic environment.
• Coach engineers on professional growth and foster a collaborative culture.
• Maintain deep technical understanding of the team’s work and its AI‑safety implications.

Required profile

• 1+ years of management experience in a technical setting, preferably with performance or distributed systems.
• Background in machine learning, AI, or a closely related field.
• Strong interest in safe, beneficial AI and ability to discuss complex technical topics.
• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience guiding teams through rapid growth and change.
