Embedded Software Engineer (Mid‑Senior)

About the role

Revel is building a next‑generation software stack that controls critical hardware across aerospace, automotive, energy and manufacturing. We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to create the software layer that connects our high‑performance runtime with industrial machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate industrial hardware ranging from standard PLCs to specialized instrumentation, handling complex register maps and protocols.
• Reverse‑engineer black‑box hardware when vendor documentation is insufficient.
• Develop Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs) with type‑safe APIs and write portable, high‑performance Rust code for Linux userspace.
• Use logic analyzers and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot hardware issues to the root cause.
• Validate code rigorously to meet safety‑critical reliability requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical or related engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of systems programming or embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in Rust, C or C++ and willingness to work primarily in Rust.
• Deep understanding of Linux internals and ability to read schematics, datasheets and timing diagrams.
• Experience with industrial protocols such as Modbus, TCP/IP, SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, RS‑485.
