Budget Analyst – Federal Government (GS-09/GS-11)

About the role

The Budget Analyst position supports federal financial management by overseeing budget planning, execution, and related administrative functions. The role ensures compliance with federal regulations while providing analytical insight into spending trends and procurement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budget planning and execution, monitor spending, analyze financial trends, and use the Financial and Business Management System (FBMS).
• Direct procurement and property management, including purchasing, market research, justifications, inventory, and disposal in line with federal rules.
• Coordinate travel, payroll, agreements, and administrative processes while representing the office in meetings.
• Ensure compliance with policies and federal regulations across all financial activities.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen or national, eligible for federal employment and subject to background investigation.
• Minimum qualifications for GS‑09 (one year specialized experience at GS‑07 level or two years graduate education) or GS‑11 (one year specialized experience at GS‑09 level or three years graduate education leading to a Ph.D.), including required transcripts and documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Financial and Business Management System (FBMS).
• Experience using financial analysis software and creating spreadsheets, tables, charts, and graphs.
• Strong knowledge of federal procurement and property management processes.
