Superintendent of Schools – Holdingford ISD

About the role

The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of Holdingford Public Schools, providing strategic leadership, vision, and oversight to ensure the success of students, staff, and district programs. Reporting to the Holdingford School Board, the role guides academic excellence, fiscal stewardship, and community engagement across the district.

Key responsibilities

• Set and communicate a clear vision for student success, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Partner with the School Board to implement policies, provide data‑driven recommendations, and support effective governance.
• Lead instructional initiatives, ensuring curriculum, assessment, and teaching practices align with Minnesota standards and address achievement gaps.
• Develop and manage a balanced district budget, oversee facilities, transportation, food service, and technology operations, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Recruit, develop, and retain administrators, teachers, and support staff while promoting professional growth and fair evaluation systems.

Required profile

• Valid Minnesota Superintendent licensure or eligibility through PELSB.
• Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field.
• Proven leadership experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, or District Administrator.
• Demonstrated fiscal management, strategic planning, and community‑engagement skills.
• Preferred: Doctorate in Educational Leadership, experience in rural districts, and knowledge of Minnesota school finance and policy.
