Mid-Level Diesel Technician – Tyler, TX

About the role

Ryder is seeking an experienced mid‑level Diesel Technician to join its Tyler, TX location. You will work on heavy‑duty vehicles, performing repairs and preventative maintenance in a safety‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance including oil changes, brake service and tire work.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines on fleet vehicles.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow standard operating procedures.
• Operate Ryder vehicles as needed and obtain a CDL within six months of hire.
• Participate in paid training and continuous skill development.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Vocational or technical certification; post‑secondary degree or certifications preferred.
• At least two years of combined classroom training and hands‑on mechanical experience.
• Basic tool set.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within six months.
• Pass drug test, DOT physical, road test and background checks.
