Mid-Level Diesel Technician – Tyler, TX

About the role

Ryder is seeking an experienced mid-level Diesel Technician to join its Tyler, Texas facility. You will work on heavy-duty trucks and trailers, performing maintenance and repairs in a safety-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles, including oil changes, brake service and tire work.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on gas and diesel engines.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Operate Ryder vehicles as required and obtain a CDL within six months of hire.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred.
• At least two years of combined classroom training and hands-on experience with diesel engine repair.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A preferred, or ability to obtain one within six months.
• Pass drug test, DOT physical, road test and background checks.

Required skills

• Diesel engine repair and diagnostics.
• Preventative maintenance procedures (oil changes, brake and tire service).
• Use of basic hand and power tools.
• ASE certification (bonus eligible).
