Maintenance Technician I

About the role

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for fixing and maintaining mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines. Tasks include plumbing work, painting, flooring repair, electrical repairs, and heating and air‑conditioning system maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize strong customer service by interacting directly with residents and guests.
• Perform routine building maintenance including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC system upkeep.
• Conduct preventative maintenance work and safety inspections on schedule.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in machines, equipment, and structures.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and be available on an on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; proven maintenance experience or technical college degree.
• CPO and HVAC certifications are required.
• Ability to work independently, follow supervisor instructions, and be on‑call as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills, wrenches, hoists).
• Blueprint, repair manual, and parts catalog reading.
• Use of precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
