Industrial Janitor – 2nd Shift (Ladson, SC)

About the role

Amentum is looking for an Industrial Janitor to join its team on the 2nd shift at an industrial facility in Ladson, SC. This full‑time position works Monday‑Friday, 2:30 pm‑10:00 pm, with occasional variations based on business demand.

Key responsibilities

• Perform heavy cleaning duties including floor sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, shampooing rugs, and polishing surfaces.
• Prepare and apply chemical cleaning solutions, strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Clean walls, glass partitions, windows, mirrors, furniture, blinds, and ceiling fixtures.
• Remove stains from carpet, drapes, walls, and floors using appropriate chemicals.
• Maintain restrooms, empty trash and recycling, and keep the janitor’s closet organized.
• Monitor building security after hours, lock doors, and check for potential hazards.
• Operate facility vehicles (vans, industrial trucks, golf carts) and industrial cleaning equipment as needed.
• Provide special cleaning support during client events and perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of industrial or commercial cleaning experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials; US citizenship or permanent residency required.
• Flexibility to complete all assigned tasks and work the specified shift.

Required skills

• Operation of floor‑cleaning equipment and industrial vacuums.
• Preparation and safe use of chemical cleaning solutions.
• Use of ladders and power cleaning tools.
• Driving and operating facility vehicles (vans, industrial trucks, golf carts).
