Global Head of Vaccine Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls

About the role

The Center for Vaccine Innovation and Access (CVIA) at PATH is seeking a Global Head of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) to lead all CMC and non‑clinical toxicology activities across its vaccine portfolio. This senior leader will shape strategy, ensure operational excellence, and partner with internal teams and external manufacturers to deliver affordable, high‑quality vaccines for low‑income settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional leadership for CMC and non‑clinical toxicology across all vaccine candidates.
• Develop and execute CVIA‑wide business plans, change initiatives, and talent management strategies.
• Assess new partnership opportunities, guiding process development, product analytics, manufacturing, and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with WHO Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) for safety assessments.
• Collaborate with CVIA project teams, disease areas, functional groups, and external development partners.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience leading CMC functions in vaccine or biologics development.
• Proven track record of managing cross‑functional teams and complex global partnerships.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for GMP and GLP environments.
• Demonstrated ability to drive strategic planning and operational execution at an organizational level.
