About the role
The position is an on‑site, temporary role at Northeastern University’s Oakland campus, reporting to the Group Fitness Coordinator. The instructor will lead both group fitness classes and one‑on‑one personal training sessions, ensuring a safe and professional environment for all participants.
Key responsibilities
- Teach goal‑specific group fitness classes, promote registration, and arrive prepared and on time.
- Conduct personalized training sessions, guiding clients through tailored workouts with professionalism.
- Maintain safety by documenting injuries or health concerns and notifying the supervisor.
- Handle administrative tasks such as class cancellations, client communications, and email correspondence.
- Keep the studio clean, report missing or damaged equipment, and monitor audio‑visual technology.
Required profile
- Current nationally accredited group‑fitness or personal‑trainer certification.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
