About the role
The Department of Psychology and Center for Cognitive and Brain Health at Northeastern University seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Social Development and Wellbeing Lab. The appointment begins Summer or Fall 2025 for a 2‑3 year term, focusing on adolescent social behavior, neurodevelopment, and mental health risk/resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Lead independent research projects and manage data analysis across behavioral and neuroimaging modalities.
- Collect new data using behavioral tasks, fMRI, digital phenotyping via mobile phones, and wearable devices.
- Supervise and mentor junior lab members, contribute to grant writing, and disseminate findings through conferences and first‑author manuscripts.
Required profile
- PhD (or expected by Sep 1 2025) in Psychology, Neuroscience, Education, Sociology or related field.
- Track record in adolescent development or psychopathology research and ability to manage a research team.
Required skills
- Advanced quantitative methods such as computational modeling and machine learning.
- Experience analyzing structural and functional neuroimaging data (e.g., fMRI).
