About the role
This full‑time, fixed‑term postdoctoral position supports an NIA‑funded project investigating how the locus coeruleus influences perception and memory in older adults. The researcher will lead fMRI data analyses and collaborate with investigators at Northeastern, UC Riverside, and UC Irvine.
Key responsibilities
- Initiate, execute, and complete research experiments, focusing on fMRI data collection and analysis (≈60%).
- Prepare and write research papers and conference presentations (≈25%).
- Manage laboratory resources and supervise research staff as needed (≈5%).
- Train graduate students and undergraduate assistants (≈5%).
- Engage in professional development activities such as grant writing and teaching (≈5%).
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- Strong background in fMRI data collection and analysis, with advanced computational and statistical skills.
- Experience in cognitive aging, brain aging, psychophysics, perception, memory, eye‑tracking, or metacognition is preferred.
- Ability to lead projects, supervise trainees, and contribute to grant writing and publications.
