Chief of Party – Global Emergency Response

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Chief of Party to lead an anticipated global emergency response project. Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, this senior position is based in Washington, DC and is limited to a 12‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic direction and operational oversight for a large‑scale humanitarian program valued at over USD $100 million.
• Manage sub‑grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and effective use of funds.
• Lead and coordinate a diverse, multi‑disciplinary team across local, international and community partners.
• Navigate humanitarian coordination mechanisms, including UN clusters, to align project activities with sector standards.
• Oversee program monitoring, reporting, and evaluation to demonstrate impact and accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8–10 years of experience in senior leadership roles such as Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, or Project Director for publicly funded humanitarian programs.
• Proven experience managing complex sub‑grant and contract portfolios.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams and collaborate with local, international, and community organizations.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms and UN cluster systems.
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
