Workforce Development Training Specialist

About the role

The Workforce Development Training Specialist supports professional development, onboarding, and employee experience initiatives for the Charlotte Area Transit System. Reporting to the Manager of Workforce Development, the role designs, plans, and delivers training programs that enhance workforce readiness and promote a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously improve curriculum, learning content, facilitation materials, workshops, and e‑learning modules aligned with organizational needs.
• Deliver training through in‑person instruction, virtual platforms, blended learning, and self‑paced e‑learning.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and subject‑matter experts to identify training gaps and create targeted learning solutions.
• Create and administer program evaluations, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to measure effectiveness and incorporate best practices.
• Maintain accurate tracking of training participation, outcomes, and reporting for workforce development metrics.

Required profile

• Proven experience in instructional design and workforce development.
• Strong background in project management and systems processing related to training delivery.
• Ability to develop engaging learning experiences for diverse employee groups.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with stakeholders and subject‑matter experts.
• Experience evaluating training effectiveness and applying continuous improvement.
