Workers Compensation Trial Attorney

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Trial Attorney to join a growing team. This remote position serves the Northern California area and involves handling all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation while maintaining a strong work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full litigation lifecycle from initial case evaluation through resolution.
• Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy, conduct discovery, negotiate settlements, and appear at hearings.
• Mentor junior attorneys and act as a technical resource on complex matters for senior‑level candidates.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor and at least 5 years of litigation experience.
• Member in good standing of the California State Bar.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and legal research platforms such as Lexis or Westlaw.
• Knowledge of insurance industry, claims environment, and insurance defense litigation.
