Staff Legal Sr. Liability Trial Attorney - Houston

About the role

Zurich is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to join its Staff Legal team in Houston. The role offers the flexibility of remote work while providing access to a local office and support staff. You will represent commercial insureds of a financially stable insurance carrier in moderate to high exposure General Liability cases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct full-cycle insurance defense, including investigation, legal analysis, pleadings, discovery, hearings, trials and post‑trial activities.
• Mentor less‑experienced attorneys and provide leadership and training across the organization.
• Prepare and try General Liability cases, manage caseloads, and handle settlement negotiations.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor with 7+ years of litigation experience.
• Member of the Texas State Bar in good standing.
• Strong case‑analysis ability, proven settlement and trial track record, and ability to work independently.
