Workers Compensation Claims Team Lead

About the role

Sedgwick is looking for a Workers Compensation Claims Team Lead to supervise multiple teams of examiners and technical staff for workers compensation clients. The position is listed as remote, but candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of, or be willing to relocate to, the Salt Lake City, Utah area, and the successful candidate will move to a hybrid schedule reporting to the Salt Lake City office.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the operation of multiple teams of examiners and technical staff, monitor workloads, provide training and track individual claim activity
• Provide technical and jurisdictional direction on claims adjudication and maintain claim diaries, including frequent ones for complex or high-exposure claims
• Analyze and process complex general liability claims, manage litigation and coordinate vendor referrals
• Lead team meetings, assign follow-up accountability and gather compliance and processing information for them
• Assist in interviews of adjusters and clerical staff, and support the team lead's monthly workload reviews
• Administer company personnel policies, interview and hire colleagues, set performance development plans and hold performance discussions

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred
• Jurisdiction knowledge of California or Nevada
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred
