Workers Compensation Claims Examiner

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Claims Examiner for Salt Lake City, Utah. The role analyzes workers compensation claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due, while keeping adjudication within service expectations, industry best practices and client requirements. The position is listed as remote, but candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of or be willing to relocate to the Salt Lake City area, and will move to a hybrid schedule reporting to the Salt Lake City office.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through action plans, investigating and gathering information to determine claim exposure.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensed in California or Nevada.
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred.
• Ability to handle stress, multiple priorities and deadlines, with clear thinking, judgment and discretion.
