WIDS Specialist Level I

About the role

Amentum/Secure Networking Solutions is seeking a WIDS Specialist Level I to provide technical support for Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) operations supporting the Skywalker program. Working under senior WIDS personnel, the specialist administers the Bastille WIDS platform, supports Monitoring & Response (M&R) activities, analyzes wireless threats and helps ensure compliance with DoD and IC requirements. The role sits on a geographically separated team, so strong coordination and communication skills are needed. The position is contingent on contract award, business needs, security clearance verification and funding availability.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day WIDS operations using the Bastille platform
• Monitor wireless environments and help identify unauthorized RF activity
• Assist with M&R activities and incident reporting
• Operate wireless monitoring and direction-finding equipment under the guidance of senior personnel
• Maintain operational documentation, logs and reporting records
• Coordinate with WIDS Specialists and engineering teams
• Follow operating procedures and security requirements
• Support system deployments, testing and operational readiness

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Security clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph
• Experience supporting technical security, wireless monitoring or related operational environments is preferred
• Ability to travel worldwide
• Office setting, though sensor installation and wiring may require climbing ladders and lifting up to 20 lbs

Required skills

• Baseline knowledge of RF theory and wireless protocols
• Familiarity with wireless security monitoring or TSCM concepts
• Understanding of DoD/IC wireless protocols, RF theory and National and DoD directives governing WIDS activities
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
