Information Systems Watch Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Information Systems Watch Technician for its Arlington, VA area team. The technician helps keep a customer's facility running by ensuring telecommunications systems stay fully functional and available for the senior leader's decision support teams. The work is on a 12-hour rotational shift schedule covering nights, weekends and holidays, in support of 24/7/365 operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, test, analyze, troubleshoot and restore voice, video, data networks, RF systems, satellite systems and information feeds
• Coordinate availability, performance and restoration with third-party service providers
• Brief customers on operational status and recommend process improvements
• Set up, operate and train users on voice, video and data networks, including radio and satellite systems
• Support the design, planning and testing of new systems and coordinate their installation
• Manage dynamic taskings and prioritize workload under changing conditions
• Travel or respond to alternate locations as needed (about 5% of time)

Required profile

• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE, with ability to obtain and maintain special access
• 3 to 5 years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience
• Physical demands: lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting at a workstation, working under desks and raised floors, climbing ladders
• Preferred: 4 years of college in a related technical discipline plus 10 years of experience, CompTIA IT Security+ certification within 6 months, network/systems administrator or help desk experience, and understanding of mid-range computer hardware and software

• Making, running and testing cables, performing loopbacks and installing equipment
• Using VTC equipment
