Information Systems Watch Technician (TS/SCI)

About the role

Amentum is looking for an Information Systems Watch Technician to join its team in the Arlington, VA area. The technician helps keep a customer's facility running by ensuring telecommunications systems stay fully functional and available for the senior leader's decision support teams. The work is on a 12-hour rotational shift schedule covering nights, weekends and holidays, in support of 24/7/365 operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, test, analyze, troubleshoot and restore voice, video, data networks, radio systems, satellite systems and information feeds
• Coordinate availability, performance and restoration with third-party service providers
• Brief customers on operational status and recommend process improvements
• Set up, operate and train users on voice, video and data networks
• Support the design, planning and testing of new systems and their installation
• Manage dynamic taskings and prioritize workload
• Travel or respond to alternate locations as needed (about 5% of time)

Required profile

• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE, with ability to obtain and maintain special accesses
• 3 to 5 years of related experience (4 years of college plus 10 years of experience is preferred)
• Physical demands: lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting at a workstation, working under desks and raised floors, climbing ladders
• Drug-free workplace; employment depends on passing a drug screen

Required skills

• Setting up and troubleshooting circuits and equipment
• Making, running and testing cables, performing loopbacks and installing equipment
• Experience with VTC equipment
• CompTIA IT Security+ certification (must be obtained within 6 months); preferred: CompTIA IT Security+, network/systems administrator or help desk experience
