Welder III

About the role

The Welder III is responsible for producing high‑quality welded assemblies for jet engine test facilities and sound suppression systems. The role ensures all welds meet shop drawings, project specifications, and AWS standards while supporting both plant and field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding of assemblies according to shop drawings, sign and date work routers, and document all steps and inspections.
• Maintain welding equipment, control electrodes, gas, and supplies, and keep the weld‑out area organized.
• Clean base metal before welding and clean welds after completion.
• Report equipment problems promptly and halt production if safety is compromised.
• Follow Vital Link ISO9000 policies, complete required records, and participate in continuous‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Ability to pass AWS 2G (horizontal) and 3G (vertical) tests on 1" structural steel.
• Physical capability for moderate to heavy lifting and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or GED; 8+ years of welding experience preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO9000 procedures and willingness to cooperate with auditors.

Required skills

• Welding of steel and sheet metal according to AWS standards.
• Interpretation of fabrication drawings and work orders.
• Operation and maintenance of welding equipment and related supplies.
