Water/Wastewater Wage Instructor – COAST/TRAIN

About the role

The Wage Agency Instructor supports TEEX Workforce Development Programs by delivering specialized water and wastewater training at COAST in Corpus Christi and the RGV Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Brownsville. This part‑time, telecommuter position helps utility personnel improve technical competence.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver classroom instruction and hands‑on demonstrations for water and wastewater utility staff.
• Maintain required administrative paperwork and ensure course materials are up‑to‑date.
• Stay current with technical standards and maintain personal technical competence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; or an associate’s degree with five years related experience, or a high school diploma with seven years.
• At least three years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
• Valid Texas Class "B" Water License and Class "B" Wastewater License (or Wastewater Collection II/III).
• Residency in one of the specified Texas counties and a valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Water utility system operation, maintenance, design, construction, and regulation.
• Adult training experience with at least 60 hours of classroom instruction.
• Completion of approved instructor training courses in teaching methods, instructional design, and use of training materials.
