Mechatronics Manufacturing Assistance Instructor II

About the role

The Mechatronics Manufacturing Assistance Instructor II delivers high‑quality, hands‑on training in mechatronics systems for modern manufacturing automation. The role supports the RAMI/TRAIN project in Brownsville and the COAST project in Corpus Christi, preparing students for careers in advanced manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver classroom and online courses covering mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC and industrial automation systems.
• Develop curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to meet industry standards and customer needs.
• Coordinate training logistics, participant registration, and maintain quality‑control records.
• Provide technical assistance and support to students, customers, and internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least five years of hands‑on mechatronics systems experience.
• Minimum one year of adult‑education or training experience in mechatronics.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley and/or Siemens).
• Experience with robotics, sensors, actuators and control systems.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM and industrial software tools.
• Familiarity with IoT, smart manufacturing, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
