Water Field Operations Crewleader

About the role

Lead crews that construct, maintain, and repair Fort Worth’s water distribution system. This 24/7 first‑responder position combines field supervision with hands‑on technical work, ensuring safe and reliable water service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direction and oversight to field crews performing construction, maintenance, and repair of water infrastructure.
• Ensure safe, efficient operations and compliance with regulatory standards and city policies.
• Supervise installation, repair, and maintenance of mains, valves, manholes, hydrants, pumps, and taps.
• Monitor work quality, perform complex technical tasks, and document operations.
• Lead emergency response efforts and on‑the‑job training for safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Possession of a TCEQ Water Distribution Class C license (or higher).
• Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Minimum four years of hands‑on water or wastewater field operations experience.
• Ability to pass physical examination, drug screen, and background verification.

Required skills

• Experience with work‑order management software (e.g., GIS, Maximo)
