Engineer Project Coordinator

About the role

The City of Fort Worth Water Department’s In‑House Design Section is seeking an Engineer Project Coordinator to lead design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will work closely with senior engineers and serve a growing metropolitan population.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate capital improvement projects for water and sanitary sewer systems.
• Design, inspect, and manage contracts, including bid preparation, cost estimating, and change order evaluation.
• Respond to high‑volume inquiries from the public, internal teams, and partner organizations.
• Apply department engineering design criteria to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
• At least four years of experience in civil engineering, water/wastewater design, construction, or project coordination.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using engineering software such as AutoCAD or GIS.
