Fabrication Welder – Water Department

About the role

The City of Fort Worth Water Department is seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder to support 24/7 field operations. This position involves constructing, maintaining, and repairing water and wastewater piping systems and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, modify, and repair components of water and wastewater construction equipment.
• Allocate resources, monitor quality, and ensure efficient operation methods.
• Respond to public inquiries, assist customers, and handle complaints.
• Perform preventative maintenance and other assigned duties.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with specialized trade training.
• Minimum two years of metal fabrication experience.
• Pass physical and drug screening.

Required skills

• TIG, MIG, STICK, and FLUX welding certifications.
• Commercial Driver’s License – Class A.
• Knowledge of work order management software.
• TCEQ Class “D” or Collection I license.
