About the role

The City of Pearland is hiring a full‑time Treatment Plant Operator II to lead and improve daily operations of its Utilities‑Wastewater division. The role involves monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining wastewater treatment processes to ensure compliance with permits and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily checks of mechanical, chemical, and electrical equipment.
• Conduct on‑site laboratory sample testing and adjust processes based on results.
• Monitor and adjust equipment to maintain solid removal according to procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.
• Read and interpret process control reports, logbooks, and lab results.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Service‑oriented mindset with ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid TCEQ Water Operator license (Grade C, B, or A).
• Experience operating wastewater treatment facilities.
• Ability to read technical reports and follow standard operating procedures.
