Wastewater Plant Operator (Class D) – Water Reclamation Facility

About the role

We are seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator (Class D) to join our water reclamation facility. The successful candidate will operate and monitor treatment processes, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and support continuous plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor gauges, meters and electronic control panels, record readings and maintain shift logs.
• Operate pumps, compressors, valves and related equipment to control flow and treatment processes.
• Observe operating conditions, conduct tests, and report recommendations to supervisors.
• Collect water samples and perform basic laboratory analyses.
• Maintain plant work areas, tools and equipment; perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Monitor and regulate chemical dosing processes.
• Follow safety rules, report hazards, equipment problems and emergencies.
• Work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation and maintain regular attendance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Class D Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license (or obtain within 6 months of hire) and maintain active status.
• Ability to perform basic plant operations and interpret laboratory tests.
• Strong task‑prioritization and cooperative teamwork skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
