Warehouse Automation Engineer – Remote

About the role

The Warehouse Automation Engineer will lead the identification, evaluation, piloting and deployment of new automation technologies across Ryder’s warehouse network. Working remotely, you will collaborate with internal operations, solution design, IT, product teams and external automation partners to create competitive, efficiency‑driving solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead minor RFP projects and support major RFPs by selecting and validating automation technologies, building ROI cases and preparing presentations.
• Validate vendor contracts and scope of work, ensuring gaps are identified and addressed.
• Provide input on solution designs, reviewing clearance, power, cost and SLA considerations.
• Assist with procurement by preparing vendor review collateral and evaluating quotes.
• Manage smaller implementation projects, track milestones, update punch lists and coordinate on‑site hyper‑care.
• Support solution acceptance testing (SAT), post‑go‑live tracking and escalation handling.
• Analyze dashboard and system data to drive optimization projects and support financial justification of automation spend.
• Partner with vendors to resolve priority tickets and lead proof‑of‑concept pilots.
