VSL2 Machine Operator – 3rd Shift

About the role

This position is responsible for operating Carbide Cells on the VSL2 line during the third shift. The work includes loading and unloading the machine, ensuring orders are fulfilled correctly, adjusting machine parameters, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining product quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up the machine using basic hand tools and measuring devices.
• Transfer and load files for production runs.
• Clean blades and load the feed magazine.
• Clean and maintain the machine and work area.
• Identify and assess common problems with the machine.
• Understand and manage proper product flow on the machine.
• Read and follow standard operating procedures for Carbide Cells.
• Follow cleanliness and tool‑organization procedures.
• Read and fulfill correct orders.
• Inspect product to meet quality standards.
• Determine root causes of quality issues.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain product tolerances.

Required profile

• Ability to stand and be mobile for 8 hours.
• Proper hand dexterity and ability to use hand tools safely.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
• High understanding of machines and components.
• Computer and software navigation ability.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb.
• Math skills appropriate to a machining environment.
• Accredited high‑school diploma or GED.
