Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Beto Unit

About the role

The Beto Unit is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to deliver direct nursing care to incarcerated and juvenile justice patients in Texas. This position provides hands‑on clinical support within a secure correctional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures following the state medical plan of care.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document all nursing actions in patient records.
• Observe and record patient signs, symptoms, and physiological status, reporting changes to medical staff.
• Assemble equipment and assist with diagnostic or treatment procedures as needed.
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and adhere to infection‑control and isolation protocols.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited LVN program and hold a current Texas vocational nursing license or permit.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS‑HP) certification.
• Ability to obtain required security clearance and pass pre‑employment drug testing.
• No prior experience required; recent graduates with temporary permits are considered.
