Vice President, Legal

About the role

Point is seeking an experienced Vice President of Legal to lead and scale its in‑house legal function. Reporting to the COO, the VP will partner closely with senior leadership to support the company’s proprietary home‑equity investment business and broader platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the in‑house legal function, overseeing day‑to‑day legal execution across the business.
• Build, hire, and develop a high‑performing legal team, including mentoring, performance management and organizational design as the company scales.
• Establish and continuously improve legal team structures, processes and operating norms to enable speed, consistency and high‑quality decision‑making.
• Act as a trusted internal client‑service partner to business leaders, delivering practical, business‑oriented legal advice with strong judgment and responsiveness.
• Oversee legal support across product and regulatory counseling, government affairs, consumer finance and mortgage matters, employment and HR, commercial contracting, privacy and data protection, and corporate matters.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a senior lawyer in high‑growth, VC‑backed companies.
• Proven ability to operate in complex, highly regulated environments.
• Track record of building and scaling in‑house legal teams.
• Strong judgment, commercial acumen and client‑service mindset.
• Willingness to work on‑site at the Palo Alto headquarters as needed (within ~50 mi).
