About the role
The Summer Law Clerk Program offers full‑time, ten‑week experience for law students to work under a licensed attorney, providing civil legal services to low‑income Marylanders.
Key responsibilities
- Learn policies, procedures, and nonprofit management fundamentals.
- Conduct client intake interviews, building trust and identifying issues.
- Monitor policy changes and conduct legal research.
- Prepare, file, and mail legal and administrative documents.
- Assist with special research projects and other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled law student with interest in serving low‑income populations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web‑based applications.
