Vice President, Employee Health & Benefits (Producer/Consultant)

About the role

The Vice President of Employee Health & Benefits (Producer/Consultant - Employee Benefits) drives high-quality new business growth within Marsh McLennan Agency's employee benefits practice and is accountable for developing and retaining revenue opportunities. The position can be based in any of the Michigan offices in Grand Rapids, Livonia or Troy.

Key responsibilities

• Identify key decision-makers in prospect organizations, such as HR leaders, CFOs and CEOs.
• Maintain contact with them through in-person meetings, phone calls and emails, using existing connections and Salesforce for prospecting and lead generation.
• Conduct initial sales conversations, qualify and assess new business opportunities.
• Build a profitable book of business, consistently meeting or exceeding individual sales targets.
• Nurture client and prospect relationships and host prospects to agency and industry events.
• Create outreach and entertainment opportunities to build relationships with key prospects.
• Understand the full range of MMA's solutions and services, collaborate with colleagues and business units, and professionally market the firm.
• Use Salesforce to direct and manage sales activity, and take part in continuous training and sales meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proven sales professional with brokerage experience strongly preferred.
• P&C and/or Life & Health insurance license obtained and maintained, with continuing education requirements met.
• Highly motivated to generate and sell new business and retain clients.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, organization, time management and presentation skills.
• Ability to conceptualize and communicate employee group benefit products, and knowledge of the benefits industry (competitors, region, end users) is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Salesforce experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
