Client Manager – Employee Health & Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring a Client Manager for its Employee Health & Benefits team. You will actively manage a book of business so that each client's welfare benefit plan needs and goals are met. Work is first closely reviewed with VPs, SVPs or assigned Partners before becoming independent. The position can be based in any of the Michigan offices in Grand Rapids, Livonia or Troy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a book of business for employee health and benefits clients
• Ensure each client's welfare benefit plan needs and goals are met
• Research regulatory issues and give clients clear, accurate guidance
• Work under pressure and multi-task, and work independently

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred; a degree in business, human resources, health care administration, communication or a related field is a plus
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the welfare benefit plan industry, working for an employer, insurer/administrator or broker
• Knowledge of group insurance (medical, dental, vision, life and disability products) desired
• Effective relationship-building, public speaking and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, work independently and be detailed and organized

Required skills

• Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook preferred
• Experience with Publisher is a plus
