Vice President, Design & Construction

About the role

Chipotle is seeking a Vice President to lead its global Design & Construction Center of Excellence. This executive will shape restaurant design strategy, ensure brand consistency worldwide, and drive innovative, scalable solutions across all markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Center of Excellence, the CCC Development Lab, and all internal global Design & Construction staff.
• Ensure every restaurant design follows Chipotle’s design principles, brand standards, and supports business objectives.
• Define and execute strategic initiatives that impact the restaurant environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary partners.
• Influence the selection and evaluation of materials, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and equipment vendors to maintain brand consistency.
• Manage relationships with external consultants, general contractors, and design vendors worldwide.
• Partner with development field teams to translate new concepts into rollout packages.
• Guide the creative direction of the in‑restaurant guest experience and overall environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field (required).
• Master’s degree in a related field (required).
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in architecture, construction, engineering, restaurant or retail design.
• 8+ years of supervisory experience in design and/or construction.
• Architectural licensure preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with SketchUp.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
• Ability to produce hand sketches.
