About the role
The Veterinary Student Externship offers 3rd and 4th year DVM students a hands‑on learning experience at an UrgentVet hospital. The program runs in two‑week blocks, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in a real clinical setting.
Key responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient medical care under direct supervision of veterinary staff.
- Perform in‑house diagnostic tests, including hematology, clinical chemistry, and radiology.
- Deliver routine client education regarding animal health and treatment plans.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures.
Required skills
- Competence in performing hematology, chemistry, and radiology diagnostics.
- Ability to assist in surgical procedures.
