Urgent Care Veterinary Shift Lead

About the role

The UrgentVet clinic is seeking a full‑time Shift Lead to provide outstanding patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast‑paced urgent care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate paraprofessional staff during each shift, assigning cases and resolving bottlenecks.
• Support the Practice Manager with labor management, schedule adjustments, and inventory control.
• Assist with client resolution decisions, invoice adjustments, and exceptional client experiences.
• Maintain equipment, address broken‑equipment issues, and ensure a safe, efficient clinic operation.

Required profile

• Professional, dependable, and able to multitask in a hands‑on veterinary setting.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior customer service experience and experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
• Must be able to lift 40 lb and be present on‑site regularly.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud‑based EMR systems.
• Proficiency using digital x‑ray equipment.
• Familiarity with IDEXX in‑house laboratory equipment.
• Clinical skills: phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
