Part‑Time Urgent Care Veterinarian

About the role

UrgentVet provides after‑hours urgent care for dogs and cats in New Britain, Connecticut, bridging the gap between regular practice and emergency clinics. This part‑time position focuses exclusively on urgent cases such as wound management, ear infections, gastrointestinal upset, and euthanasia, with no wellness or abdominal surgery duties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver relationship‑based care to patients and clients during swing/second shifts.
• Collaborate with a strong technical team, clinical leadership, and internal veterinarian consultants.
• Manage a varied caseload that includes urgent appointments and limited surgical procedures.
• Participate in community outreach and support staff development through the LevelUp training program.

Required profile

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA‑accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program).
• Active veterinary license in good standing for Connecticut, or ability to obtain one.
