Vascular Technologist

About the role

The Vascular Technologist joins Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute to perform advanced non‑invasive vascular ultrasound examinations. The role supports high‑quality patient care through accurate testing, interpretation assistance, and technical leadership within the vascular laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized ultrasound studies of arterial and venous systems, including carotid, aortic, mesenteric, renal, celiac, cardiac mapping, and pulse volume recordings.
• Review patient history, determine appropriate procedures, and consult physicians on exam questions.
• Notify physicians of abnormal findings and assist with interpretation of study results.
• Document examinations in patient medical records and complete billing documentation.
• Serve as a senior technical resource, mentor new technologists, and participate in recruitment and training.
• Evaluate new equipment, support clinical research, and correlate laboratory results with other imaging studies.

Required profile

• Graduate or current student of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, or eligible for RVT/RVS registry within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and use personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Vascular ultrasound acquisition and interpretation.
• Duplex imaging and Doppler techniques.
• Pulse volume recording and treadmill testing.
• Use of clinical information systems and electronic medical records.
