Underground Construction Operator (UG Construction 1/2)

About the role

This position supports underground construction activities at the East Boulder‑McLeod mine. The successful candidate will operate a range of equipment, fabricate steel and wood structures, and perform shotcrete and grouting tasks on a rotating 5‑day shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as LHDs, skid steers, trucks, forklifts, buggies and tractors for construction, maintenance and expansion projects.
• Build forms, install rebar, pour concrete and perform steel fabrication, including welding and cutting.
• Install piping of all sizes throughout the mine and manage pipe‑related maintenance.
• Plan, organize and execute shotcrete applications, grouting, and steel/wood fabrication projects.
• Use jackleg and sinking hammer for excavation, modification and set‑up of underground sites.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and work independently without direct supervision.

Required profile

• Mechanical aptitude with experience in piping, pumping, welding and cutting torch.
• Ability to read and interpret technical prints and drawings.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Physical capability to meet the demands of underground construction work.
