Ultrasound Technologist

About the role

The Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) provides patient services using ultrasound imaging equipment, records exams for radiologist interpretation, and may assist in other medical imaging divisions as trained.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient ultrasound services according to department policies, regulatory guidance, and physician orders.
• Maintain patient and department records, ensure patient safety, and keep patients informed of exam status.
• Demonstrate schedule flexibility, punctuality, and ability to work under pressure.
• Communicate complex information, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with hospital personnel and physicians.

Required profile

• Graduate of an ultrasound technology program (current enrollment accepted).
• One year experience as a registered sonographer preferred; multi-modality technologist preferred.
• Registered sonographer – ARDMS in OB or ABD, or RT(S) registered by ARRT; registry‑eligible individuals may be considered.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ultrasound imaging equipment.
• Knowledge of ARDMS, ABD, ARRT certification standards.
• Ability to handle confidential materials and comply with corporate compliance plans.
