About the role
The Kansas Judicial Branch is seeking a Trial Court Clerk III to support the 6th Judicial District in Bourbon County. This full‑time, onsite position involves handling court records, assisting judges, attorneys and the public, and ensuring accurate processing of legal documents.
Key responsibilities
- Identify case data, receive and file documents by hand, typewriter or computer.
- Stamp files, assemble documents chronologically, scan, image and index court records.
- Assist with receipts, disbursements, month‑end reporting and balancing procedures.
- Answer telephone calls, certify documents, issue marriage licenses and support jury management.
- Supervise office operations in the Clerk’s absence and aid in technology implementation.
- Train and cross‑train employees as needed.
Required profile
- High school diploma with at least one year of clerical experience (or 30 college semester hours in lieu of experience).
- Accurate computer data‑entry skills and ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under supervision.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
