Transportation Construction Technician

About the role

ISG is hiring a Transportation Construction Technician to join its growing Transportation team, which serves WisDOT, county and city clients across Wisconsin through offices in La Crosse, Green Bay and Brookfield. The role is field-based, working alongside contractors to ensure projects are built correctly and making real-time decisions to build and maintain roads. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to WisDOT, county and city transportation construction projects
• Hold professional meetings including pre-construction, public information and weekly construction meetings
• Perform civil engineering calculations and prepare engineering plans, designs and reports
• Provide construction oversight and inspections when needed
• Act as liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities and contractors
• Deliver project documents within budget and time constraints while meeting client requirements
• Develop client relationships and support business growth
• Prioritize overall project management and ensure successful project delivery
• Assist with functional and detailed design of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects when in the office

Required profile

• Construction professional with strong problem-solving ability and collaborative mindset
• Willingness to learn; a proven track record and solid references are essential
• Experience with WisDOT standards and Civil 3D is a plus but not required
• Year-round construction staff; adaptable and proactive
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record, as the role involves travel to job sites
