Senior Traffic Engineer

About the role

ISG, a multi-disciplinary firm founded in 1973 offering architecture, engineering, environmental and planning services, is growing its Transportation team with a Senior Traffic Engineer. The position can be based in any ISG office and is intended as an in-office role supporting collaboration, mentorship and team connection. You will work closely with the Transportation Business Unit Leader and the Transportation Engineer to lead traffic engineering projects for state departments of transportation, cities and private-sector clients, including travel demand management and land-use strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Collect traffic data, evaluate intersections, complete traffic and corridor studies, and run analyses with simulation and modeling software
• Lead traffic-related design projects, including traffic signal and roundabout plans, roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, construction staging and traffic control plans
• Prepare preliminary and final designs, construction plans, specifications and cost estimates
• Build client relationships by listening to their goals, priorities and expectations
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor and leader for local ISG colleagues
• Take on additional initiatives as assigned

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering or related fields
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
• PE license required; PTOE certification preferred
